Oxygen Media Selects Performance Technology Group
Baltimore, Maryland - March 15, 2007 - Oxygen Media, the fastest growing cable network for women in that prized demographic of 18-49 announced that it’s entire mission-critical business application will be handled by Baltimore-based Performance Technology Group, Inc (PTG).
In the multiyear, multimillion dollar deal, PTG will host, operate and manage the production, development and disaster recovery (DR) implementations of the New York-based network’s most mission-critical business applications.
Oxygen Media, which reaches a younger, hipper and more affluent female audience than any other female-directed network, first sought the advice of PTG when it launched in 2000. Since then, the Baltimore technology company has managed the IT infrastructure for the advertising transactions for Oxygen.
“PTG has allowed Oxygen to focus on its core business and no longer worry about our mission critical systems hosting,” remarked Dan Le Roy, Oxygen’s Vice President of Advertising Operations.
“Most people think of technology outsourcing overseas,” says Pete Chakales, CEO, PTG. “But a lot of outsourcing is happening right here in Baltimore because places like our managed technology center offer world-class security and efficiency at a location close to the East Coast business centers.”
Oxygen, the only cable network owned and operated by women, is currently available in over 70 million homes.
Headquartered in Baltimore, PTG is a premier provider of systems engineering and technology management services for commercial, State and Federal customers requiring high reliability and security. Clients include McCormick & Company, Inc., American Radiology Services, Knoll Furniture and Johns Hopkins. Founded in 1996, PTG became the first managed technology provider in Baltimore to become SAS 70 Type II Certified.
